At the center of the neighborhood is Oakhurst Village. It’s a charming business district featuring interesting local shops, restaurants and galleries. Residents of Oakhurst enjoy the walkability of their neighborhood. In addition, they enjoy popular neighborhood festivals. Favorites include the BBQ, Blues & Bluegrass Festival and the Oakhurst Arts & Music Festival.
However, our favorite is the Oakhurst Porchfest where people turn their front porches into music stages. The idea was to have “an afternoon when porches all over the neighborhood became stages and everyone just meandered from yard to yard, listening, hanging out, and connecting/reconnecting with their neighbors”. We can all agree, America needs more Porchfests! And did we mention that it’s a super dog-friendly Atlanta neighborhood? Perfect.
